Aug 11, 2006 - 9:27pm so long invisible

after their show a few nights back, Cassie informed me the invisible were playing their last show. it really caught me offguard, it seemed like a very run of the mill performance, they didn't even run their projector like they had been doing recently.

since then, i've had their song "Bigger Picture" on my mind, it's a bit lackadasical but it seems to fit the situation so perfectly:

you will find that oftentimes the answers lies before your eyes

and if you think in terms of a grander scheme,

it doesn't seem so bad now does it?

You should never overlook the importance of the bigger picture.

i was thinking back to when they played their set at pygmalion last year. as i recall, kris bauer was telling me his wife was expecting at any moment, there was scarcely a crowd there, and yet him and the band still tore up and played a fantastic show for the circumstances. Invisible, you guys will be sorely missed.

Jul 25, 2006 - 12:06am deltron 3030 is da shiat!
about a week ago in louisville some friends introduced me to deltron 3030, which is dan the automater and del from the first gorillaz album with kid koala on turntables. i'd never really been into hip hop but it's a groundbreaking album for the genre, it's this futuristic concept album and it really opened my eyes. the first song brings together these wagnerian choruses and what sounds like a spacey hawaiian slack string guitar on a bass backbeat and it's this incredible contradiction of lowkey and moving. i'm sorry i didn't find about this sooner.
