Motion City Soundtrack
Has anyone here seen these guys?? They are an amazing rock band with a great pop sound, their music has enough hooks and twists to make your head spin. They play around here quite often...and have several shows comming up..I really suggest you check them out, pick up their cd at one of their shows and then you will understand what I mean!!!

They recently opened for American Cosmonaut and Absinthe Blind and got a very good reaction.

I've saw MCS at the Courtyard Cafe w/ Ultimate Fakebook, and at the BBC in Bloomington. Great band! and they've recently signed to Epitaph Records. They also just released a split EP w/ Schatzi, and it's pretty good. You can get it at Interpunk.com or Doghouserecords.com.

Re: Motion City Soundtrack
i'll contribute to all the fuss. these guys are amazing live. their catchy music gets the crowd moving or at least a little head nodding going on. watching them is a sure pleasure to the eyes. the guitar player is always really witty and the keyboard-ist is always doing cool bull-like kicks off his keyboard. if your a fan of rhv or just enjoy poppy music with quirky keyboards you'll most likely enjoy MCS. i hope their sorta recent sign over and re-release doesn't make their music sound too polished and finished. i sorta like the scratchy stuff and the untouched vocals.

Re: Motion City Soundtrack
I recently bought to Epitaph release of "I am the movie" and i own the self released verison as well. As far as i can tell the music quality is the same. It has a few added tracks such as "Capitol H", "Perfect Teeth" and "Modern Cemestry". So don't worry. it still sounds the same, which is good. (I think)

Re: Motion City Soundtrack
2 years ago MCS was playing the skatepark in Champaign opening for Sagacity. And now there are on Epitaph and opening for bands like Blink 182 and No Doubt at sold over venues. I'm still listening to "I am the movie" after all this time. It's nice to see a good hardworking band get someone in the music business after only a year or so. And thanks to MCS for coming back to C-U on St. Patricks Day. It was good to see them again (for the 3rd time!)

Re: Motion City Soundtrack
i still havent gotten the chance to see them jam in person yet. I was at a OB meeting at the time of the Courtyard Pef. during the St. Patty day and hangin at the Canopy the whole evening. It was a blast watching drunkin' people trying to start a mosh pit during Missing the Point peformance.

The new acoustic split EP with Matchbook Romance and Motion City Soundtrack came out on Tuesday (Sept. 7th). I haven't heard it yet, but I just wanted to let people know, in case they want to get a hold of it)

It's out, it's pretty good. But only 2 songs from each band. Oh well...
